I know there are many McLaughlins of this Blood-Line, who are stunned by the information--that their Blood-Line is that of the O`Melaghlins--a Irish Clan  that completely vanished from Ireland--in the Early 1600s. I know there were  unbelievers in many of the families here in America, that discounted some of  the`Tales` and `Legends` that were passed down from one generation to the next. They scoffed and said that the stories were a group of `made-up` fables... Then they refused to pass-on `such nonsense` to their children. Our Related Families also have their share of incredible Legends, some strain   your imagination--!  But they also are about VERY EARLY AMERICA...  The Mayflower Pilgrims land at Plymouth,and 51 of 102 died from a vicious sickness. There were 16 adult married women,but only 4 of these lived to see Thanksgiving  the next October.My Susanna White was one of the 4--A ship sailed from Holland, going to New Amsterdam, which was ship-wrecked during a fierce storm off New  Jersey. Most of the people drowned, but a small group, including Penelope Van Princes & her husband struggled ashore, where Indians attacked the survivors, and tomahawked them, and left them for dead... Penelope came-to, the only  survivor of the ship-Her 1st Day in America! She then lives to be 110, and has  407 living descendants at her death.(Ask any Stouts,if they know who she was-?

22 men all related, named Spooner, around the small village of Acushnet, MA,   served bravely during the American Revolutionary War...(Sounds like patriotism runs in this family?) One, with Capt. John Paul Jones-- Wm. Valentine, a steam  shovel engineer helped dig the Panama Canal--caught malaria, & survived. The Oliphants have a heritage line that ties in with Robert Bruce-King of Scot- land...  William McLaughlin, arrived at Jamestown, 1639, the 1st O`Melaghlin to reach America as a bonded servant, (tobacco field-hand), because he`s too poor  to pay for ship passage--(born in Scotland about 1620).
